I printed out your cost and it does not appear that you make DVDs for old video movies. You only do digital on videos. Is that correct?

    • kristendean

Hi Pat! Thank you for your question – we can certainly convert your film (8mm, Super8 or 16mm) for you – it will be digitized, then go through an extensive editing and color correction process, then will be posted online in your private iMemories account for you to view, label, edit & organize. You can also share your favorites, and create your custom DVD projects from your account. For pricing information, click here, or you can call us at 800.845.8199 with any further questions!

How long does it take to get dvd back , after you send in film 8mm.

    • Hi Dar,

Thanks for your question. Timing depends on which program you choose (See it Before You DVD it or Direct to DVD) – 2-3 weeks to digitize, then whenever you order the DVD, it takes only 1-2 days to ship out. Visit here to see details on both options!

If I put labels on my 8mm tapes, will you identify them by the label? Otherwise I might not know the time frame of the tapes.

    thanks.

    • Yes, if you include labels on your tapes, we will type those into our system, and you will see those in your iMemories account. You can always update them online – by clicking and typing. It’s easy!

Some of my HI 8 movies are short, some are longer, do you charge by length or by tape, no matter how much is on it? I am sending many as soon as I get the box, thank you!

    • Hi Mary Jo,
iMemories charges by the tape – no matter how much video is included – to keep it simple for you, and for us. Plus, it costs us the same to process a tape whether it has 30 minutes of video or if it has 2 hours of video.
We are looking forward to working on your project!

My friend just turned me onto your site.
I am excited to begin to select my past treasured memories taken in the form of slides and film
and saved them onto DVD ‘s. Knowing that I am in good hands with Kodak.
Thanks in advance for this service.

    • Hi Lisa,
So happy that you found iMemories (through our friends at Kodak)!

We welcome you as a new customer. We are looking forward to working on your project.

      Thank you for choosing iMemories!

I just heard of this program via an email and I’m sooo excited as I’ve been wanting to try and organize my old movies so we can show the kids but some formats I have no way to even playback anymore. I plan to send in about 20 tapes, so a huge investment for me, and was wondering if once they are converted .. can I make imovie based on small clips from multiple tapes? I know there is a lot of ‘fluff’ on the tapes and I just want to take the memories I want to keep and make a misc. DVD, can I do this???

    • Hi Debbie,

We are so happy you found us! You are making the right move in digitally preserving your tapes to preserve them for years to come.

The answer to your question is YES! You can have your original source files sent to you in addition to your DVDs. These source files can be simply imported directly into iMovie (or any other mainstream video editing program).

Just know that once your videos are digitized at iMemories, we store them in your very own private and secure iMemories account. We provide some basic editing tools that also make the process easy (to delete and edit out material you no longer want). So, with iMemories, you have the choice of using our online software or iMovie – whichever way you want to go. Note: If you choose to have your source files sent to you, you need to purchase a USB thumb drive or USB hard drive to transport the files – as they are very large.

We look forward to helping you preserve, share and enjoy your movies.
